Book Fair Next Week

The St. Philip's Book fair runs from Wed. April 27 - Fri. April 29th.  Our class visit is scheduled for Block 1 Wed. April 27th.  Families are more than welcomed to visit Thursday evening from 4 - 7pm and Friday morning from 9:20 - 12:05.  Students will also have a second opportunity to visit Friday morning if they have brought in extra money.

Flyers will be sent home Wednesday.  If you have a particular book you want your child to purchase, please make that clear on the wish list and we will do our best to track it down.  Please make sure you return the ballot so your child is entered into a draw for 25$ worth of free books!

Please ensure that any money being sent in is in a LABELLED baggy.  If money gets dropped on the floor, it is very hard to figure out who it belongs to!

If you have any questions, please let me know.

More Book Report Info.

The Grade Ones have all chosen a book and are ready to complete their at-home project.  The grade ones have helped me with a book report in class on Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon as a model for home.  Below are pictures of the completed book report.  Next week, I will be practising my presentation skills and the students will be ready to critique what I need to do to improve.

Book Report Info

On Friday, students went home with an outline for our first big at home project.  Students will be responsible for completing an at-home fiction book report.  Students will begin by choosing a "just-right" fiction book.  This means a book that they can read mostly on their own.  Students can choose a book from home or if you need help finding a book, send in a note and we can find one from our classroom or school library.  All book choices should be in by Thursday.  Once the book has been sent in, I will send home the sheets needed to complete the book report.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Choreography of our School Song

The past few weeks have certainly been busy.  Here are a few posts about what we've been up to!

Last week we had the chance to work on the choreography for our verse of our St. Philip School Song.  Robin worked with our class to create moves to go with our class lyrics.
