Book Report Update

This week, we have been working on a book report together as a class.  The students helped me complete a book report on, "My Mouth is a Volcano".  Here are a few pictures to show an example of a final product.

I am now practising my presentation with the help of my grade one friends to give me tickled pinks (things I am doing well) and green to grows (things I need to improve on) from our oral presentation checklist.

Luv 2 Groove

Our students had the opportunity to take part in Luv 2 Groove Dance this week.  They had an amazing time learning some new dance moves.  Check out some of the shots below.  Students also went home with a bookmark advertising the Luv 2 Groove summer camp in case anyone is interested.

Book Report Info

Book Report Information went home Thursday.  Students are to choose a just right FICTION (story) book for Monday.  If you do not have a book at home your child would like to use, students can choose a book from the classroom or our school library.  If you write a note in the agenda, I will be happy to help hunt down a book.

Once the book is chosen and brought into school, I will send home the sheets the students will need to complete the report at home.  The report is meant to be completed over the next several weeks so students are not overwhelmed at the end.

We will also be completing a report over the next week as a class and practising giving an oral presentation to help prepare.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Indoor Recess Fun

The students had a blast on Wednesday with indoor recess.  Here are a few pictures I promised I'd share...

The past few weeks, students have been busy learning about 2D Geometry.  We  have been busy naming shapes, sorting shapes by their geometric properties (number of sides and vertices), making pictures with 2D shapes and gaining a deeper understanding of symmetry.  Take a look at a few of our action shots below...
